Team Nikhil was launched in memory of our son, Nikhil, who lived until the age of 12 with a rare disease called Microcephaly-Capillary Malformation Syndrome. This resulted in a severe form of epilepsy known as Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome in additional to other health problems. Nikhil also had cognitive disability, was non-verbal, and was wheelchair dependent.
Through our experience of raising a child with medical challenges and various disabilities, we learned the importance of adaptive support, inclusive community, and "teams" working together. Because of this, we called this organization Team Nikhil.
